What a featured listing includes

- One line in your own words, rather than our summary of your public information.
- Owner-verified status
- We confirm the details with you directly, so families see a listing you stand behind.
- Your normal listing, kept
- You stay in the organic results in your usual position. The rail is in addition, never instead.

Of the 184 programs in this directory, 55 are Black-led or Black-serving. If that is who you are, say so — we want those programs visible whether or not they can pay.
Featured listing FAQs for LA programs
- Does paying push my program above the Black-led listings?
- No, and it never will. Black-led programs are the primary sort in every organic list on this site, and money does not change that. A featured placement puts your photo in a labelled rail at the top of the page — above the results, visibly marked as paid placement. Your program also keeps its normal position in the list below.
- Do you label featured listings as advertising?
- Yes. Every featured rail carries a "Paid placement" label. We do this because readers deserve to know and because search engines require paid placement to be disclosed — but mostly because a directory that hides which listings were bought is not worth reading.
- What kind of traffic should I expect?
- Honestly: this directory is new, and traffic is still ramping. We would rather tell you that than sell you a number we cannot stand behind. What a featured placement buys today is prominence with the families who do arrive, and a photo — which no other listing has.
- Can I get listed for free instead?
- Yes, and most programs should start there. A free listing gets you the full program page, the funding module, and the "Request this program at your charter" button that families use to get you approved as a vendor. Featuring is an upgrade on top of that, not a gate in front of it.
